New Zealand Loan and Mercantile stock, 95, ex interest. CHRISTCHURCH PRODUCE MARKETS. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The wheat market shows an improvement in tone,! although prices are unchanged. Business ia still restricted on account of limited offerings by farmers, but sales would be easily effected of, lines on a basis of 4s 3d to 4s 4d for peail and tuecan, and 4s 2d to 4s 3d for hunters. There is still considerable speculation as to tho quantity held by the millers, who are not buying except to a 'limited extent, and who show no- disposition to concede tho values asked by holders. Oats are steady, and affair quantity was sold last week at from. Is s£d to Is 7d. Tho potato market is still unsatisfactory. Up-to-Dato aro practically \msaleable at 40s to 50s at country stations, the principal demand boing for Derwents at 60s, but theso are not plentiful. , JOHNSONVILLE SALE. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltc|., report on their Johnsonville sale as follows : —Wo offered a heavy yarding of prime sheep and cattle, which sold readily at laic rates. Best bullocks, £9 to £9 7s 65; lighter, £8 15s to £8 17s 6d; others, £B^B 6d to £8 10s. equal to 22s 6d per hundred. Prime heavy wethers, 17s 9d to 18s_ 6d; prime ewes, 16s 3d to 16s 8d; medium ewes, 15s 4d; light, 14s; large, 11s 9d to 12s 3d.
