BUTTER GRADERS.

ONE "WANTED FOR HAWKES BAY.

[BY TELEGRAPH — PBESS ASSOCIATIOK.] HASTINGS, This Day. A deputation of dairy farmers waited on the (Minister for Agriculture to-day, and urged the appointment of a butter grade? for Hawkes Bay, stating that it would be the means of saving 'half-a-crown a hundredweight by obviating the necessity of sending butter to Wellington to be graded. (Mr. Mackenzie replied that he hardly thought the output from the district warranted the appointment; but the Hon. 'Mr. Carroll had mentioned that a grader was wanted in Poverty Bay, and if one was appointed his duties might be extended to include Hawkes Bay. If this' could be done without entailing much -extra expense, he would favourably consider the suggestion.
