At a meeting of the Gisborne Oil Company to-day, it was reported that oil had been struck in the Waitangi bore at 655 ft. The well is pumping oil at present, but there is a strong pressure of gas. The oil is of high illuminating quality. Three barrels were obtained yesterday.
