Herr Rudolf Martin, formerly Minister of the Interior at Berlin, declares that a decade hence Germany will have a thousand dirigible balloons and ten thousand aeroplanes, and her aerial fleet would be armed with torpedoes. In the event of war with Britain, Herr Martin declared, Germany's airships would imperil the British fleet and ports, and facilitate an invasion.

A party of Suffragettes accosted Mr. Asquith outside Lympne Church, near Hythe, in Kent.o The Premier's hat was knocked o£E before he escaped to Lympne Castle, where his family was holiday-making. The Suffragettes again waylaid Mr. Asquith and Mr. Herbert Gladstone, Home Secretary, on the golf course, and finally broke the windows of the room where the Premier and his family were dining. The Suffragettes escaped.
Norman portions of the Lympne Church, ariginally built by Archbishop Lanfranc, are -still standing. Lympne Castle, a fine castellated building, stands on the site of an old Roman castrum, and many Roman remains have been found in excavations in the vicinity.
