ONSLOW BOROUGH COUNCIL.

A meeting of the Onslow Borough Council was held last nighfc, Mr. J. G. Hairknesg, thc< Mayor, occupying the chair. All tho councillors were present. In regard to an application by TVIr. Jas. Auld for permission to be allowed to build up to the adjoining boundary, it was decided to grant the permit, sub T ject to his removing the building if re= quired to do co by the council, or in accordance with any objection placed before the council by the adjoining owner. The by-laws provide that a space of five feet must be left. An extra £12 was voted towards improvoments to Main-road, Khandallah. It was decided to continue the public liability risk insurance in connection with accidents on the public roads, etc. The Mayor explained this had nothing to do with employers' liability. Owing to the insurance companies having raised the rates, the council would have to pay about £14 a year, instead of £9 a year, as before.
