BadenPowell inspected 11,000 Boy Scouts at the Crystal Palace. King Edward forwarded a message, hi which he assured the boys of his : great interest in- the movement they had joined, adding : "If I should call upon you, later on in life, the Sense of patriotic responsibility and discipline acquired in boyhood will enable "you to do your duty as men in the event of danger threatening the Empire."
