ABOUT KEAS.
TO THE EDiTOR.* Sir, — In the "Notes on Natural History," published in The Post of the 21st August, I think that the remarks of "Kea-hunter" are misleading. I have had a lot of experience in the kea country, and I never pnce knew an instance of a kea touching a sheep after it was dead. I once came upon a mob of hoggets stuck in the snow, and the keas had taken the kidney fat out and had the small entrails trailing in the snow. Now, if the young ones contract the habit by feeding on dead sheep the easiest thing in the world would be to poison them, but I have tried it, and never once found a dead kea. — I am, etc., EX-KEA-HUNTER.
