The annual report of the Hutt Valley Trotting Club states that members are' to be congratulated on the improved position of the club, the assets now showing at £148, as against £107, with liabilities nil. The annual trotting meeting, held on 26th and 28th Deceiriber, was again a great success, and appreciated by the public. Although there was considerable shrinkage in the totalisator returns, the meeting proved a profitable one for the club, and the stewards hope, by keeping the sport dean, to merit a larger share of public patronage. Regret is expressed at the retirement of Mr. O. S. Watkins from the position of president. During the year a startingclock was procured, and in the capable hands of Mi. G. V. Burridge, who kindly acted as honorary starter, gave; every satisfaction. i ! j [ j
