HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL.

As mentioned in The Post last evening, at a special meeting of the Hutt County Council held yesterday, a geneial rate of Id in the £ thioughout the county was struck. Apportionment of income, receipts and expenditure, and rating for the ensuing year were ateo considered. Councillors M. Wlitfeh (chairman), Wakcham. Galloway, Edwards, Whitu man, ami SLyncl* were present. Estimated receipts -were set down ns follows : — Outstanding rates and 10 per cent.', £1982 Is 8d; outstanding costs £6 lls, outstanding: rents £25— £31 11s ; ■outstanding special rates and 10 per cent., £18 lls 3d; rents £300, subsidy £515-^£Bls ; licenses and fees, etc. , £450 16s Id ; charitable aid, £170 : land fund "thirds," £50; Government grants., £40C0 special rates, £141 ; total capital rateable value of the County of Hutt at 1-4 April, 1909, £1,588,388, which, at Id in the £, will produce £6616; deficiency, £6: total, £14,283.
