Kayll, recently appointed visiting adviser to the gaol, gave an illustrated lecture on ciimmologv and modern reformatory prisons. He &idd the idea of punishing criminals was gradually dying out, and people were realising and endeavouiing to lift the men to a higher sphere of life. This was far better for the country generally. Mr. Kayll enters upon his. new duties early in Augutt.
