HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLE
The Department of Industries and Commerce has received the following cable from the High Commissioner, dated London 21st July :— "The wool sales closed with competition not quite so keen as at close May sales. Americans are not buying so freely, purchasing only light fine grades. Consumption is large, and supplies will be moderate. Prospects are favourable. Estimated value according to condition :—: — •Superior merinos, Is to Is 2d ; medium merinos, lOd to ll^d ; inferior merinos, '8d to 9^d ; fine crossbreds, all grades, Is to Is 2£d ; medium crossbreds, all grades, lOd to. Is Id ; coarse crossbreds, all grades, 7d to ll^d.
