In connection with, the small arms factory to be established by the Federal Government, the successful tenderers are to furnish all skilled help till the plant is in full operation, and to send a foreman to train Australian workmen. Expression was given to the opinion, both in the Federal House of Representatives and in- the State .Parliament, that British tenders should 'have been more favourably considered in the matter. In the State Parliament, Mr. JPrendergast, leader of the Labour Party, asked if the Premier would, on behalf of the State, protest against such disloyalty to the Mother Country. The Premier (Mr. Murray) thought the question was couched in language Eomewhat offensive to tho Common.wealth.
