A DOCTOR'S DIVERSION.
DAILY NEWS HOAXED. By Telegraph.— Press Assejciation.— Copyright. (Received July 13, 8.25 a.m.) LONDON, 12th July. The Daily Chronicle learns, with the authority of the so-called Dr. Boyd himself, that the story of his crossing the Irish Sea in an airship was a fabrication, and that he hoaxed the Daily News. His motive in doing so is not stated. A cablegram received a few days ago reported that a private syndicate, with capital totalling £250,000, is being formed to work Dr. M. Boyd's new airship. The doctor and two companions, it was stated, crossed the Irish Channel, with the utmost secrecy, in the night time during last May, at a height of 3500 feet, travelling in four hours a distance of ninety miles. They landed near Belfast, and recrossed the Channel the following night. '
