ASIATIC POLL TAX. CANADIAN RESTRICTIONS RELAXED.

While tho Canadian poll tax of £100 on coolies is retained, restrictions applicable to students and sons of Chinese merchants havo been modified, and are now less onerous. Students possessing a liberal education and desiring to pursue a higher course in a Canadian university or college are exempt from the tax.
