LOWER HUTT WATERWORKS. TO THE EDITOR.
Sir,—l notice in Saturday night's Post an account of an interview by your reporter with the Lower Hutt Borough Engineer, in which theie is a veiy laudatory account of the waterworks and the engineer. Youi leporter rang me up for permission to obtain some intormuUon as to the waterworks, While I considered that it was highly probable that public attention would be directed to the success of the waterworks scheme, I never intended that it thould be used a.- I lie means 0/ advertising any particular gentleman in connection with the scheme, especially as at the present time a leport is coming down from the consulting engineers dealing with the expenditure upon tlusi and other public works. Ib is somewhat strange that the report does not •mention that the buheme is that of .Messrs. Meason and JMarchanl, or refer to Mr. Commetti, who was closely connected with the supervision and construction oi' the work*. —l am, et<., E. P. BUNNY, Mayor of Lower Hutt.
