The Heath Estate is again under offer to the City Council to enable it to carry out street-widening opeu-atdont. The scheme, which has been submitted by Mr. W. H. Brewer on behalf of a syndicate, and which is now under consideration by a committee of the council, would enable the council to widen portion of Willis-street, portion of Man-ners-street, and to continue Victoriastreet a width of 66 feet through to Manneis-street at a cost to the city of almost nil. The council is asked to purchate all the land required to carry out the scheme at the price of £147,106, which can be paid for in City Corporation debentures payable in 20 years and bearing 4i per cent interest. The offer will come before the council after it has been considered by the committee.
