RESIGNATION OF MR. HOGG.
SYMPATHETIC RESOLUTION. £»V TZLEGHArH — t-KESS. ASSOCIATION. I NAPIER, This Day. At a meeting of the Napier Brotherhood last evening, the following motion was adopted: "That this public meeting condemns the action of Cabinet in dismissing Mr. Hogg, whom we regard as one of the beat friends of the wage-earn-" ing class, and one of the most enlightened and capable statesmen who ever held office in this country. This meeting also calls upon the workers in all pails of the Dominion to assemble, and de--clare themselves in favour of Mr. Hogg's policy for the destruction of land monopoly and the removal of all obstacles to national progress, and the just disLribution" of the national earnings." OPEN-AIR MEETING IN AUCKLAND. AUCKLAND, This Day.. At an open-air ' meeting held on Sunday, under the direction of the Auckland branch of the Socialist party, a resolution was adopted endorsing the utterances of ' Mr. A. W. Hogg on the land question, and on a State note issue, and expressing deep regret at his retirement from the Ministry. A fund was opened for the presentation of a testimonial to Mr. Hogg.
