1 Karori ov. Wellington College 4. Wesley 3 v. Wellington 0. V.M.C.A. 2 v. Vivian 0. Hockey was in full swing on Saturday, and some very interesting matches resulted. In the men's senior championship only three games were played, the fourth contest tailing through by Thorndon defaulting to United. Reports, of the play are as under: — KARORI (6) v. VICTORIA COLLEGE (4). An exciting game was played on No. 1 ground between Victoria College and Karori. Both sides were imbued with earnestness, and play was fabt accordingly. Scoring began early, and goals were e\enly distributed throughout the play. The first spell finished "2 all." About ten minutes after the second half of play had progressed, Boyle, right wing for Victoria College, had to retire owing to a blow on the head. On the other side Elias was limpmg as the result of a knock on the leg. Karori added four more points to their score, while the Greens obtained a couple of goals, the final tallies being Karori 6, Victoria College 4. Mr. S. Hickson refereed. V.M.C.A. (2) v. VIVIAN (0). : Play was fast in the V.M.C.A.-Vi-vian fixture. The former managed to score once in each spell. The first goal was obtained by Loader, and was the result of .a fine individual effort. Parton found the net in Uie second instance, the game finishing V.M.C.A. 2, Vivian 0. The referee was Mr. Hunter. WESLEY (3) v. WELLINGTON (0). Wesley won the toss and decided to play with the sun behind them. From tho bully-ott" Wesley attacked strongly, and _ before two minutes of the game had' elapsed they had scored their first goal, principally through the agency of Birch. On resuming, Wesley continued to attack strongly, and some "up-and-down" play was witnessed. Another three minutes was sufficient, however, for Birch to again shine, and he thus increased Wesley's score to two. No further score took place in this spell, which ended Wesley 2, Wellington 0. The second spell opened as that previous had ended — slow and uninteresting, and after a brief period the last goal was scored by Wesley through the aid of Dixoh. Mr.. Southwick refereed. JUNIOR. Victoria College A defeated Gregg's by 6 to 3. United (4) v. V.M.C.A. (2). Scorers for United— Wills 2, Disher 1, Brotherson 1. For V.M.C.A., Aitken 2. A very even game was the one between Government Life and Wesley, in which the latter team suffered defeat by 2 goals to "nil. ' Metropolitan. 22, Thorndon 0. Scorers : Hall (9), Wrigley (4), M'Kenzie (4), Kitching (4), and Burbush (1). St. Patrick's College Old Boys beat Karori by 8 to 2. Petone (5 goals) defeated Wellington (4 goals). THIRD CLASS. ' Victoria College A defeated St. Patrick's College by 10 goals to nil. Government Lite Insurance Department defeated Gregg's by four goals to thiee. . ' ■ Wellington (6) defeated Petone (2), after a good game. For Wellington Lawi % y, Furton (2), Gooden, and Thirtwell scored," while Petone's scorers were Wallace and Cox. Victoria College B gained a victory over Wesley by four goals to nil. Castle (2), Tinney, and Morrison scored.
