A FOOTBALL QUESTION.
TO THE EDITOB. Sir, —There is evidently much room and scope for the classification committee of the Wellington Rugby Union to work on after the composition of the Poneke team against Oriental last Saturday, it seems to be very evident that the former' club did not consider the forces of their club strong enough without calling on the resources of others to ensure them success. The inclusion of Slater and Tannahill (Kia Oras) and Wilton (Selwyn), with the intention of hardening and strengthening their team for this match, strikes one as rather unsportsmanlike, and, to my mind, does not meet with the approval and approbation of all true sports. This, I think, is a casa where the officials should step in, aad if this clu]i cannot win without enlisting the services of others, it is about £im» they took a back seat. —l am, etc., W. STEVENS.
