EASTBOURNE. ESTIMATES FOR THE YEAR.

A special meeting of the Eastbourne Borougn Council was held lit Rona Bay on Saturday. There were present Mr. J." Ban- (Mayor), Councillors Foley, Mackenzie, Organ, Robertson, Ross, Russell, Sanson, and Wills. The council considered the report of the sub-committee on sanitation, which was adopted. General account : Credit balance brought forward, £179 15s 8d; general rate of li of a penny in the £ on the unimproved value of £108,820, £680 2s 6d ; an annual sanitary fee of 10s estimated to produce £75; Government subsidy, £120; fees, miscellaneous, £25; total, £1079 18s 2d. It was decided to confirm the above rates at a special meeting to be held at the Town Clerk's office on 7th July. The council resolved to levy the special rate on account of a loan of £4,500 raised last year, and amounting to £d in the £1 on unimproved value.
