'THE PREMIER'S FINANCIAL STATEMENT. tVHAT WILL BE DONE IN THE RECESS. At 10.15 last night a Bill was brought ?own by Governor's Message in the House of Representatives providing for m amendment of the Public Revenues Act, and for the raising of a loan in lid of public works and other purposes. The Bill was read a first time and orlered to bo printed. The Prime Minister then asked to be allowed to move the second reading of the Bill, and to explain its- provisions. The Leader of the opposition (Mr. W. F Maesey) suggested that the Standing Orders did not permit of such a course. The Prime Minister moved the suspension of the Standing Orders, so as to enable him to carry out his design. This was agreed to, on the understanding that the second reading debate would not be gone on with until the following day. *
