FIRE AT SEATOUN.
TEA ROOMS DESTROYED. Fabian's tea rooms at the Seatoun tramway terininus were destroyed by fire this afternoon. The building contained about eight rooms, and was built for Mr. C. E. Fabian three years ago. Mrs. Fabian, who was about to leave for town, noticed smoke from one of the rooms, and she gave the alarm. Neighbours rendered what assistance they could ; but the flames, funned by a southerly gale, soon obtained such a hold that the efforts to extinguish the fire were futile. Some of the furniture and effects were, however, got out. An adjoining cottage belonging to Mr. Joh. Lindberg, draper, had a narrow escape. Water from a tank was thrown over it, [ and the flames from Mr. Fabian's house ■were thus kept from spreading. I It is understood that Mr. Fabian's house and furniture were insured.
