WESTPORT, Bth May. Arrived— Komata (8.20" a.m.), from Wellington. MIMIRO LEFT SYDNEY. On Thursday the Tyser steamer Mimiro left Sydney in continuation of her voyage from London to New Zenland ports. The vessel should reach Auckland on Tuesday next, and will alterwardb come on to Wellington. The latest approximate estimate states that she should arrive on the lSth inst. The Mimiro brings 700 tons of cargo for Wellington. THE KAIPARA. After being delayed considerably by bad weather at Napier the New Zealand Shipping Company's s.s. Kaipara arrived yesterday alteruoou. Some inward loading will be done at this port, and the vessel is then to proceed on Tuesday evening to Waitara, the Bluft, Port Chalmers, and Lyttelton. It is hoped to despatch her for London from the last mentioned port about the 20th inst. Captain N. Cornwall, R.N.R., is in charge of tiic Kaipara. Mr. A. E. Dunn, R.N.R., is chief olBcer ; Mr. Q. Worthington, second ; Mr. T. Point, third; and Mr. G. Stedman fourth. The englneroom is in charge of Mr. M. Corbett. -v THE OPAWA. Advice has now been received by the local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company that the Opav/a, at present at the Bluff, will proceed from there to Timaru, Napier, and Auckland. A summary of the total cargo shows that the chief lines of freight were as follows:— 23,168 carcases of frozen mutton, 73,233 carcases of lamb, 7730 bales of wool, 7706 cases of cheese, 3755 boxes of butter, and 5000 each legs and shouldeis of mutton. NIKAU LEFT GLASGOW. Advice has been received that the Anchor Steam Ship Company's new steamer Nikau sailed from Glasgow on Tuesday last, the 4th inst., for Nelson. The vessel will proceed via Suez, and should arrive in New Zealand early in July. The Waimea may be expected to arrive at Nelson from the Clyde on Tuesday morning. A message from Newcastle advises that the Wanaka, about the non-arrival of whicji some uneasufess was felt yesterday, reached her destination in safety. Heavy weather delayed both her and the Kaituna, but no damage was done to either vessel. The Nelson Colonist hints tha before long the largest direct liners will go there for discharging as well as loading purposes. The annual saying in transhipment expenses (states tht Colonist) will be tremendous, and of course a benefit that the whole community will share. With this pre -ct ahead, Nelson may truly be said to ha\o entered into a new era of progress. It is btated that the rock which has been located 594 feet from Moturoa, New Plymouth has fiom 13ft of water at the outer end yaryms up to 17ft at low water, covering it. In a letter to the general manager of the Vmon Company, the Marine Superintendent expresses doubt as to whether the Corinna struck the roci; at all; he thinks the obstruction whs a submerged lo». Captain Hood, of the New Plymouth Harbour Board, has been instructed to sweep the locality.
