NEW ZEALAND STUDENTS AT EDINBURGH.
In the class-medal lists for the winter session issued by the Edinburgh University (says oiu- London correspondent under date 28th March) the names of, New Zealand students, chiefly those who are specialising in medicine, stand out prominently among the successes. It will be noted that several have secured medals, in one or two instances two apiece, while first-class honour awards have been of frequem occurrence. In the senior division o£ Anatomy, the medallist is R. C. Begg, who accordingly takes honours in the first class. In the first half-course, junior division, George Crombie (Wairarapa) took a medal with fiist-class honours, coming out second in the examination. •G. V. Bogle (Waipukuran) also took honoius in the same division. Twd New Zealanders carried off first-class honours in the second halfcourse (winter) in Anatomy, viz., G. V. Bogle and S. A. Smith. One New Zealand student, D. M. Wilson, gained firsti class honours in Senior Practical Anatomy, summer 1903 and first half-session. J7irst-class honours in Practical Anatomy, second year students, fell to R. C. Begg, S A. Smith, and T. H. Horrax. G. V. Bogle has taken first-class honours in Junior Practical Anatomy (second year students, Biisto-street department). George -Crombic heads the pass list of first year students, second half session, in Junior Practical Anatomy, and that position secures 'him the medal. R. C. Begg, M.A., B.Sc, secures the medal and first place in the senior division of Physiology, and second-class certificates have been awarded to G. V. Bogle, £. F. W. (Wellington), and Sidney A. .Smith. In Experimental Physiology the following have taken honours in the first class : — R. C. Begg, A. Ij. Christie, T. H. Horrax, E. F. W. Mackenzie, Sidney A. Smith, W. R. Stewait; in the second class', G. V. v Bogle^ F. N. Johns, and 11. B. Lawrie. C!. V. Bogle and Thomas H. Horrax have pa.ssed with first-class honours in Chemical Physiology. First-class honours, with medal, fall to the lot ot F. O. Bell lor j Pathology. H. E. Holmdcn has taken I first-class honours in Practical Pathology. In Materia Medioa, J. Falconer' Brown has gained first-class honours. B. ( O. Begg hns tuken fiist-class honours in, Practical Materia Medica. Another New, Zealand medallist is W. Douglas Reid, who has also been awaided fhft-dass honours in junior division of Medicine. In Midwitery and Gynecology F. G. Bell is a. medallist with fhst-cLtss honours, and similar honours have been secured by W. Douglas Reid, Wilfred J. Felt* ham, J. Drummond, Claude B. Tudej hope.
