Marton.— Mr. R. E. Beckett defeated Mr. John M'Eldowney, tire present Mayor, by seventeen votes. Duneddn. — The city Mayoral election resulted in the Mayor (Mr. J. MTDonald.) being defeated by 40 votes, the figures being as follow: — Walker, 3343; Al'Donald, 3303. Last year Mr. M'DonaJd d-efeated Councillor Walker by about 1200 votes. Mornington. — Mr. A. H. Bridger was.' elected Mayor of Mornington. Port Chalmers. — Mr. D. A. de Maus was elected Mayor. Dannevirke. — Mr. H. M. Ries, the sitting Mayor, defeated Mr. J. Drummond. Masteuton. — Mr. P. L. Hollings defeated Mr. J. Hunter for the Mayoralty by 264 votes. Wanganui. — The results of the Mayoral election were as follow: — Mackay, 1486 votes ; Muir, 276 ; Battle, 197. The council poll resulted : — Poynter, 1332 ; Carson, 1328 ; Liffiton, 1312 ; Burgess, 1154 ; Spriggens, 1055 ; Williams, 1049; Calver, 908; Young, 889; Holloway, 885. Wanganui. East Borough. — For the council the successful candidates were: — Messrs. Christie, Holloway, O'Leary, Willis, Allen, Neilson, M'Caul, and Burton. Hastings. — Mr. J. A. Miller was elected Mayor. Auckland. — Mr. C. D. Grey has been re-elected unopposed as Mayor. Newmarket. — Mr. Ernest Davis defeated Mr. F. G. Clayton by 240 votes to 14. Devonport. — Mr. W. Hanley secured a majority of 140 votes over his opponent, Mr. T. W. Cranch. Parnell.— Mr. R. S. Briggsi defeated Mr. C. R. Tapper by 431 votes to 318. Invercargill. — The Mayoral election resulted in the defeat of Mr. Scandrett, who has held the office for five consecutive years. Mr. C. S. Longuet, who was Mayor some years ago, has been returned by a majority of 250. Nelson. — Mr. Jesse Piper was re-elect-ed Mayor for the fifth successive term by a majority of 317 over Mr. W. S. Hampsou, the only other candidate. Waimate. — Great interest was taken in the borough elections to-day, when the following candidates were elected : — Messrs. F. S. Jones, R. Inkster, A. J. Manchester, G. Collett, E. Saunders, W. Miller, A. Cox, J. Hunt, and R. Hunt. Westport. — In the Mayoral election to-day, Mr. J. H. Greenwood was reelected for the third year in, succession, defeating Mr. Hans X/arsen by 313 votes. Of the former council five stood again, but only two were elected, Councillor A. C. Hansen leading the poll. Gi&borne. — The Mayoral election resuuted in Mr. W. D. Lysnar being reelected. He polled 1230 votes, and Mr. W. Miller 934. The defeated candidate was absent in Sydney on business during the campaign. Sydenham. — Mr. Charles Taylor was elected Mayor. Palmerstori North. — Mr. Nash was returned as Mayor unopposed. The council consists of Messrs. Mowlem, Hayden, Clausen, Armstrong, Stubbs, Palmer, W. M'Kenzie, M. O'Reilly, and Wewitt. Christchurch. — For the Mayoralty, Mr. C. Allison, the present Mayor, polled 5425 votes, and Mr. H. H. Loughnan 3318. Council : — Central Ward — Messrs. W. H. Cooper, C. D. Morris, T. Gapes, H. B. Sorensen (old councillors), and J. J. Dougall and Dr. "Thacker (new men). Linwood Ward — Messrs. H. J. Otley and T. N. Horsley (old councillors). St. Albans— Messrs. H. Williams and W. Hyde (old councillors), and A. H. Anderson (new man). Stratford. — The Mayoral election resulted : Mi-. G. Sangster, 392 ; Mr. W. P. Kirkwood, 230. Feilding.— Mr. W. J. B. Trewin was returned as Mayor for the- fourth year, beating Mr. S. W. Fitzherbert. The following councillors were elected : Messrs. A. H. Atkinson, J. W. Branrwell, A. Richmond, E. Goodbehere, T. West,'H. Tolley, G. J. Harford, G. H. Saywell, and A. Williamson. Hamilton.— Mr. J. A. Young was elected Mayor. Timarn.— The Borough Council elections created more than usual interest here. There were eighteen "candidates for twelve seats. Five new men were returned. Tauranga.— The Mayoral contest resulted : Rev. Canon Jordan, 184; Mr. J. Bull (ex-Mayor), 170. Levin. — The following were erected as councillors : Messrs. Cameron, Hudson, Mackenzie, Palmer, Levy, James Prouse, France. Lancaster, and Hannan. Foxton.— The following is the result of the council election : Messrs. G. Coley, J. T. Levett, F. E. Jenks, Alex. Spiers, A. E. Gibbs, Wm. Ross, Rae Howard, Dr. Adams, and Thos. Rimmer were returned Greymouth. — Mr. Eldon Coates was re-elected Mayor by a majority over Mr. Alfred Russell of 111 votes. Pahiatua. — For Mayor, Mr. Crewe polled 230, Mr. Wilson 165. For councillors the polling was : — Norrell 301, M'Cardle 238, Sturton 257, Boyd 210, Westlake 207, Drew 205, Hewafc 172, Hare 158, Davidson 155, Milne 155, Lilly 154, Ashcroft 140, Weston 145, Walsh 129, Richardson 112, Debreceny 70, Cox 65, Storey 38. The returning officer will be required to give his casting vote for the ninth man. Eltham — Of twelve candidates at the borougb election, the following nine were elected : — Messrs. T. C. Stanners, L. Hill, F. Amoore, H. G. Carman, G. W. Tayler, S. T. Cooper, M. Blackhall, W. C. Clement, H. C. Fake. Mr. ESwin Parrott had been elected Mayor unopposed. Hawera — The Mayoralty election resulted :— H. W. Sutton 267, F. S. Canning 78, J. Brunette 66. Blenheim. — In the Mayoral contest, Mr. Archibald M'Callura was re-elected by a majority of 140 votes over Mr. John Conolly. Of six old councillors who offered themselves, only three were re-elected.
