As if to signalise her withdrawal from the Australian-New Zealand trade by giving a last imprtssion of speed, the Huddart-Parker steamer Riverina arrived in the harbour at 3 a.m. to-day from Sydney direct, after a very creditable passage of 3 aays lOj hours. She left the New South Wales port at 3 p.m. oi Saturday, and fiesh north-east winds, with a moderate south-west swell and fine weather, marked her progress across the Tasman Sea. Onp boiler was shut off on Sunday, and the vessel came along without its assistance for the rest of the voyage. An average speed of about 15 knots was maintained till the Wellington Heads were passed soon after 2 o'clock this morning. After the usual health . inspection the Riverina berthed at No. 2, Qi'cen's Wharf, at 8 a.m. Cargo brought by the vessel comprises the following :— 174 packages tea, 62 packages periodicals, 481 bags flour, 300 bags maize, 23 barrels oil, 40 ingots tin, 07 cases drugs, 128 bags merchandise, 335 cases soap, 6 piles, 50 kegs cream tartar, 80 cases paste, 100 cases figs, 55 cases candles, 51 bundles tiles, 122 pieces timber, 180 cases schnapps, 48 rolls matting, quantity scenery, 25 cases preserves, 232 cases fruit, 73 bags ricemeal, 360 bags rice, 44 drums oil, 94 boxes sultanas, 100 cases benzine, and a large quantity of sundries. The Riverina is timed to sail at noon to morrow for Sydney direct. THE ULIMAROA. Eariy this morning the Huddart-Parker steamer Ulimaroa arrived from Lyttelton, and bc-ithed at No. -S, Queen's Wharf. She afterwords wsnt alongside the Riverina, berthed at No. 3 opposite, and was to-day engaged in receiving cargo transhipments for southern ports from the latter vessel. The Ulimaroa is said to be "as sound as on the day of her launching, the repairing work at Lyttelton having been carried out in a very efficient and creditable manner by Messrs. Andeisons, Ltd.
