PROTESTANT ALLIANCE COUNCIL.
THE SESSIONS CONCLUDED. A two-days' session of the New Zealand Council of the Protestant Alliance Fiiendly Society of Australasia was concluded in Wellington yesterday. The funeral fund was imported to have a credit balance of £7188 9s 6d. The total disbursements for funeral expenses weie £615. The subordinate lodges have paid in sick allowance £1133 0s 7d, and at the same time have increased their funds by £399 2s 6d. They have now tn credit £8498 18s sd, which, added to the credit balance o f other funds under the Grand Council, gives the society, in New Zealand, a total credit balance of £16,292 19s Bd. The society's operations are restricted to the Australasian States and New Zealand, and it has a membership of 23,250, with accumulated funds totalling £217,234 7s 9d. During the sessions the desirableness of augmenting the- sick funds was approved, and a representative committee from all lodges was set up to frame rules governing the amalgamation. These will be considered at the next sessions of the Grand Council, to be held at Christchurch in two years' time. Mr. J. Stevens was elected W.G.M.
