REFEREES' ASSOCIATION.
»» — The New Zealand Referees' Association met last night, Mr. R. M. Isaac presiding. Mr. P. Mackie, who has left the district, forwarded his resignation, which was accepted with regret. A letter, thanking him for his past services to Wellington and New Zealand football, was ordered to be sent to him. The annual report and balance-sheet were diafted. The following rulings were agreed on in reply to a letter from the Wellington Referees' Association :—"lf: — "If a player in possession of the ball, and standing in the field of play, deliberately reaches out his hand and touches the corner flag, the ball shall be considered as carried back." 'The original formation of . a scrummage ceases to exist when there are not at least two opponents 1 facing each other."
