VICTORIA COLLEGE HOCKEY CLUB.

At the annual meeting of the "Victoria College Hockey Club, to bo held to-night, the committee's annual report will be presented. In congratulating the members ou the past successful season, it is stated that the first eleven, after starting badly, soon reasserted itself and came through tha second round without losing a mateh — a. I performance which, considering the high standard of hockey in this city, is decidedly creditable. The synopsis of matches shows tha6 the scoring ability of the forwards was very great ; in fact, they scored the largest number of goals secured by any team, in the competition. The junior team, which established a substantial lead for the junior championship in. its earlier stages, failed at the critical moment, and finished runners-up. Still the team is to be congratulated on its good showing, and also on the fact that three of the team gained places in the junior representatives. The usual dance held resulted in » financial success. During the year one of the club's delagates to the Wellington Hockey Association was elected a member of the Management Committee of that body. The club also has to congratulate .one of its members, Mr. Allan MacDougall, on his gaining 1 the New Zealand Ehodes Scholarship.
