ON THE BARRIER.
♦ THE TRIAL OF TOM MAXN. By Telegrapn.— Presn Association.- Copyright. SYDNEY, 10th March. If Mr. Wade, State Premier, persists in having Tom Mann tried at Albury, the Amalgamated Miners" Association will ask all combined unionists in the Barrier to strike. Mann is charged with having, with twenty-seven other men, caused a riot in connection with the Proprietary mine trouble on 9th January. He, Edmund H. Gray, John May, Sydney Robertson, and Wattle Stokes, were committed for trial, the rest of the accused being dealt with summarily. Mann was granted bail on condition that ho left the State, and he has sine© been in South Australia. It is alleged that on the date mentioned in the indictment Mann, carrying a Socialist flag, led a large crowd, headed by a band, to the mine, and a riot, during which a couple of police* men were injured, followed.
