REVOLUTIONARIES IN PERSIA.
LAYING MINES AND- ERECTING FORTIFICATIONS. _By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright, j TEHERAN, Ist March. At Resht (a town of Persia lying south-east of the Caspian Sea, and • situated on an important trade route leading from the Persian interior to Russia and Europe) the revolutionaries are laying mines and erecting fortifications along the Russian road. The Royalist forces have effectively blockaded the Nationalists in Tabriz for a fortnight. The Nationalists con-" stantly make sallies, which have, so far, been indecisive. Early last month the revolutionaries at Resht, which is the capital of the province of Ghilan, murdered a number of officials, destroyed the Government buildings, and gutted the arsenals. The insurrection is said to bo deriving a great amount of support from Persians living in Constantinople, who are looking for a repetition in their own country of the constitutional victory recently gained in Turkey.
