Arrived— Ophelia, barque (3.15 p.m.), from Sundswall. KUMARA, FROM LONDON. On this occasion the Shaw-Savill steamer Kumara is bringing a number of passengers to the Dominion. Dunedin will be her first port of call, and she is due there on the 25tli instant. THE PATEA' TRADE. A new departure in the trade between Wellington and Patea has been taken by the Wellington and Wanganui Steamship Company in their decision to employ the Hunt in the Patea run. Henceforth she is to mfake about three trips a week from here to Wanganui and Patea. Tho company also pioposes, if the venture witli the Huia is successful, to employ the Putiki in the Patea trade at uo distant date. PORT OF GREYMOUTH. Exports from Greyrcouth during January sliow a creditable voluros of outwajd trade. The list comprises over 23,000 tons of coal, 1,358,015 superficial feet of timber, 185 tons of coke, C 849 sleepers, and a quantity of bricks, wool, and flax. THE TYSER STEAMERS. The Marere, at present discharging at Sydney, is shortly to proceed to Aucklabd and Wellington, and the local agents advise that she is due here on the 28th inst. The Nerehana is due back here to complete loading on Monday week, and is timed to saii for London on the 25th inst. The Star of Australia is expected to arrive here on Sunday, also to complete loading, and she should get away for London on the following Tuesday. A NEW STEAMER. It is reported that the Colonial Sugar Refining Company, Ltd., has recently had launched a new passengc rand cargo steamer named the Fiona. «Ue is described as having a deadweight carrying capacity of 7300 tons distributed through four holds. Triple e\pansion engines are said to be fitted in her, and I these are situated aft. Sne will have long ! poop and forecastle, and is to meet the requirements of 100 Al at Lloyd 3. Sir Daylton Dixon and Co., Ltd., of Cleveland, arc stated to be the builders. The Government training vessel Amokura was relaunched from the Slip yesterday evening, and returned to her anchorage in the harbour. It is reported that the barque Senorita, 324 tons, has been chartered to load coal at Newcastle for Wellington. On Tuesday several large holes, it is stated, ! were visible in the hull of the stranded . Hawea, as a result of blasting operations. ! The masts have also been blown out of position, and it is expected that the whole hull will soon collapse.
