FOUND DROWNED.
AN ADJOURNED INQUEST. The adjourned inquest on William Brumby, 19, who was recently found drowned in the harbour, was resumed by the coroner (Dr. M' Arthur, S.M.), at the Morgue this afternoon. Dr. C. D. Henry, who saw the body of deceased, said there were no marks of violence. There was a slight discolouration round the throat, but that was clue to putrefaction. The appearance of the body was that of death from drowning. Arthur Morrison produced a statement of moneys received by deceased on behalf of his employer (Mr Telford). Leonard Arthur Brumby, father of deceased, said he had made a remark that be would drown himself, but witness did not think he meant it. This was two years ago. He wa» then in ill-health. He was strictly sober. About three weeks ago he wrote to his sister to say he was goinjj home for a, holiday, and he was expected home at Hawke's Bay at the end of January. He always wrote in tne best of spirits. Enquiries made of the Post Office Savings Bank went to show that deceased had no account there. The coroner found that the deceased was found drowned in Evans Bay, out that there was no evidence to show how he got there.
