ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.

The police received news this morning that a man whose name is M'Donald, and who is supposed to have been employed on the railway extension works, jumped out of the window of a hotel or accommodation house in Motueka Valley, picked up a piece of glass, and cut his throat. He is being brought to town. Dr. Hudson thinks the man may recover. The exact locality of the attempted suicide and further details ar«j not yet known.
