ADVERTISING BY CINEMATO GRAPH.

The set of cinematographic films for which the I'ederal Government >iab agreed to pay the Pans firm of Pathe Freres £2000, as a means of advertising Australia, ia to consist of the following subjects f— (1) Characteristic viows of the six capital cities oli Australia, embracing street scenes, ths moving traffic, and the public buildings; (2) trip through Australia by rail; the audieme will be taken rapidly over the most picturesque sections of the railways of Australia ; (3 and 4) trip by motor-car and coach . this film is to give a general idea ot country which cannot be properly viewed from the railway: (5) typical Australian sctnes, including waterfalls and manufacture of Australian preserves, commencing with the gathering of the fruit in the ovenard, and finishing with its matiulat-turis into jam : these views are proposed 10 be labelled "From TVte to Can" ; (t) the goldmining industry, showing some of the great mines in Australia, and operations in progress : Tft) coalmining, beginning at the pit".* mi. ntli. and following tin. 1 coal to Hip Mup's r,ifto ; tuc Fio^en lueaL iiicliifclry. the educational systems of Australia 3 (11) the wool industry, from the flocks on pastures, through the shearing-sheds, to the Australian woollen manufactures, or to the ships for export ; (12) the sugar industiy, showing the white labour policy in operation in tropical or subtropical d istn cts ; (13) harvesting — wheat being gathered, and its subsequent distribution to millers or ships ; (14) the dairying industry, snowing all the operations ; (15) the Zoological Gardens, illustiatihg especially Australian animals and birds. The films, when completed, will be sold by Pathe Freres to cinematograph operators, and will be shown in different pyits of the world. The guarantee that they will be exhibited is an arrangement that the firm has with all its agents. To effect that, a set progiamme must be gone throiign each evening, the Australian views to be included m one of their reproductions.
