A HEALTH RESORT FOR MASTERTON.

The question of obtaining a, health resort conveniently situated to this dis turt was discussed at a meeting of the Chamber of Commerce held yesterday afternoon. Mr. Donald Donald stated that in conversation with Mr. Barton, owner of White Rock Station, the lattc-r gentleman had stated that Palliser Bay was an ideal locality fen. 1 a* wateringplace, and could be made so accessible to Masterton that it could bo reached within three hours. It would be necessary to establish a motor launch service from Pigeon Bush down Wairarapa Lake, through the outlet in Palliser Bay. Air. Barton had expressed his willingness to take any member of the chamber down the lako to the bay in his motor launch, and this would give them some idea of the merits of the trip and the locality as a holiduy attraction. It was decided to lake advantage of Mr. Barton's offe*. and a date i& to be arranged on which the visit could be paid by members of the chamber.
