PATENT LAWS.
FRANCE LEGISLATING ON BRITISH LINES. By Telegruph.— Press Association.— Copyright (Received January 15, 9 a.m.) PARIS, 14th January. France is legislating in the direction of a patent law on the lines of the Right Hon. D. Lloyd-George's. Germany has also felt the serious effect of the British Patent Law on German industry. The German Patent Law also requires that an article must, to a certain extent, be manufactured in the country if it is to enjoy the protection provided, but it is said that this provision is interpreted very liberally. Some time ago it was suggested in Berlin that other countries should enter into mutually favourable patent treaties, with a view to isolating Great Britain and bringing her to terms.
