Cabled intimation has been received by the local agent of the Federal-Houlder-Shire Line that the Drayton Grange left Liverpool on Saturday last for New Zealand via Melbourne and Sydney. Efforts no"w being made to refloat the stranded scow Uioa are meeting wnth success. It is reported that the vessel is not so badly damaged at at first stated, and tho purchasers of thp bull (Mr. G. Brarthwaite and his son) are confident that they will soon have her afloat. The new steamer Otaki, of the New Zealand Shipping Company's line, is due at Auckland on Sunday. She is bringing 2joo tons of cargo for AVellington. Captain Palmer, until recently in command of the s.s. Karoro, of Cisborne, has taken charge of tho trawler Beatrice. Captain Colcman is now in charge of the s.s. Ka'joio.
