Lord Lansdowne (Unionist Leader in the House of Lords) expressed misgivings as to the- effects of the Bill, especially in the interest of consumers. Even a temporary embarrassment to the country's industries would be serious at a time like the present, when numbers of unemployed were walking the streets.
