WOOL SALES.

HEAVY TURNOVER IN SYDNEY. Bj Xclegrapn. -Press Association.— Copyright. SYDNEY, 14th December. To-day's wool Sales covered 11,700 bales, the total value being over £140,000. LONDON MARKET CLOSES FIRM. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., Wellington,/have received the following cable message from London, dated 12th inst. : "Tho wool sales closed firm. Since our last telegram scoured super merino wools are 5 per cent, higher, and other descriptions of scoured merinos are 5 to 10 per cent, higher. Super merino, combing, 10 to 15 per cent, higher. Greasy merino wools suitable for America, and greasy merinos of other descriptions, 10 per cent, higher, except short wasty merino wools, which are 7£ per cent, higher. For crossbred wools of fine quality prices are 10 per cent, higher, and crossbredwools of medium and coarse quality are 10 to 15 per cent, higher. The total net quantity amounted to 180,000 bales, of which 9000 bales have been sold to America, 85,000 bales to the Continent, and 76,500 bales for Home consumption, leaving stocks on hand of 17,000 bales.'* Messrs. Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the- following cable from their London agents, the National,' Mortgage and Agency Co., Ltd., dated London, 15th December: — "Tho wool sales have closed with a good demand. Prices generally are slightly under the highest ruling through ths series." The Department of Industrie's and Commerce has received the following cable from the High Commissioner, dated London, 14th December: — "Wool sales closed firm, with spirited competition. No stock is accumulating, and buyers place full confidence in a future good demand. American market prospects are favourable. Estimated values are as follows : — Superior Merino, ll£d to Is l^d per lb ; medium, 9d to lid ; inferior, 6^d to Bid. Fine crossbreds, all frades, lid to Is lid; medium, Bid to Id 5 coarse^ 6d to 9d.
