The financial statement made by Mr. G. B. Cortelyou, Secretary to the United States Treasury, shows that the expenditure for the year ended June was £11,614,000 over the leceipts. The excess of expenditure over receipts for the year ending June, 1910, is estimated at £28,609,000. The republic's interest bearing debt at the end of June, amounted to £179,500,000.
