— -«>■ - SECONDARY SCHOOLS. Tho results of tho sixth annual shooting competition among the secondary schools of life Dominion arc now a\ailalile. Out of twenty-ono schools eligible sixteen competed, from Whangarei in the North to lnvcrcargill in tho South. The conditions are — Teams of ten pupils under nineteen years of age, se\ en shots, and a compulsory fighter, at 200 and 500 yards. The order for 2908 is as follows: — 200 500 Tl. Nelson College 303 282 — 585 Auckland Grammar 287 289 — 576 Rangiora H.S 29* 278 — 572 Wanganni ' College 294- 267 — 561 Wellington Collego 276 277 — 553 Waitaki B.H.S 280 271 — 551 Marlborough H.S 261 262 — 523 Ashburton H.S 259 254 — 513 Otago B.H.S 263 245 — 503 Christ's College 284 222 — 506 Palmerston N. H.S 256 237 — 493 Thnaru B.H.S 265 226 — 491 Southland B.H.S 239 240 — 479 St. John (Auckland) 235 208 — 443 St. Patrick's (Wellington) 238 182 — 420 Whangarei H.S 207 149 — 356 Tho highest, individual scorers are Sergt. Cowens (Rangiora) and Private Devore (Auckland Grammar), each with 66 out of a nossibk 70. The average of shooting was very good, 23 boys putting on over 60. Whangarei is a new corps, and allowance should be made, as it shot without practice and under adverse conditions. Each school fires at its own range between Ist September and Ist December.
