« A bazaar in aid of the funds for building an Anglican church at Miramar, was opened yesterday afternoon by the Mayoress, Mrs. C. J. Crawford. The new private hotel opposite Wonderland gates was kindly lent for the occasion by Mr. Chase-Morris. The different rooms were admirably raited for the various stalls and sideshows, all of which did good business yesterday, over £32 being taken. The following is a list of stallholders—Plain work, Mesdames Howe (president). C. Bell, Miss Howe; fancy work, Mesdames Redshaw and Norton-Taylor ; produce, Mesdames N. Bell and Petlcy; flowers and lollies, Mrs. F. East, Misses E. East, Adair. Martin and Wyatt; Christmas tree and bran tub, Mrs. Hawson; kitchen utensils, Miss Walker; book stall, Mrs. Evans; refreshments, Mesdames Duff, W. Rownfcree. H. Rowntrec, Misses Duff. F. Wyatt, B. Fyfe, V. Potter, K. Wright, V. Wiren, N. Hawson. D. Kircher, E. Duff; ice cream and cordials, Mr. S. M. Stone; fish-pond, Mr. Power. During the evening various entertainments were given, and were much appreciated. They included a splendid sot of kinematograph pictures of Wanganui. departure of the Nimrod, scenes in Rotorua, etc., kindly lent by the Tourist Department, and manipulated by Mr. Macdonald; some cleyer conjuring by Mr. Liardet, and a children's dance by girls trained by Miss Flux.
