KARORI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The usual meeting of the Karori Borough Council was hold last evening, /\i 6 f 2, U(i. wl^ g being Present—The Mayor {o-\P-h V? scut), Councillors Lissington, Smith, Wsdde Cathie, Spier,, Hammond Bradnock, and Raine. A notification was received from I'rancis T R. Johnson in reference to an alleged oncroachment by tho Karori Council on his property in Crcswick-road Ine writer stated that, a« directed by tho engineei, ho had submitted the matter to the Wellington City Couuoil, and that body lepudiatcd any liability in tho matter, and that the liability (if any) in rospeot of the damage rested with the Kafori Boiough Council. On the motion of the Mayoi it was decided to refer the matter to tho engineer for report. Dr. Edith fluntly, Kelburne, wrote complaining of the behaviour of the Karori bus-drivers. Tho meeting decided merely to receive the communication The Public Works Committee recommended that Mr. T. Ward be written to pointing out that in tho construction of Ponsonby-road the cuttings in places go right back to the boundary pegs. In all such cases, and where sufficient margin has not been left between the boundaiv pegs and the tops of the cuttings to guard against probable future slips, Mr: Ward will be required to give the Karori Borough Council the rights to throw the latter on to pjivate property.
