DEPARTURES. November 25— Amelia Sims, schooner (8.25 a.m.), 98 tons, Johnson, for Lyttelton. THE ATTEMPT TO FLOAT THE HAWEA. In connection with yesterday's unsuccessful attempt to refloat the Hawea at Grej mouth, the steamer Kittawa and the tugs Tcrawhiti and Westland were told off to assist in the wort. The Kittawa, with the Weslland alongside, was to take up a position in the river by means of two anchors. If the water was smooth enough the Teraivhiti was to go alongside tho stranded vessel to attempt to pump some of the water out. If this proved successful it wps anticipated that the Hawea would regain sufficient buoyancy to refloat. HULL TO NEW ZEALAND. According to the Commercial News the barque Kylemore, 1144 tons, has been chartered to transport a cargo of creosote from Hull to two New Zealand ports. TEE KAITUNA LEAVES NEWCASTLE. Cabled intimation to the Union Company reports that the Kaituna left Newcastle at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon for Wellington. THE BUCEROS AGROUND. It is stated by the Commercial Ne»s that the s.s. Buceros (Captain Hutciien) has grounded near Kingston, South Australia. The vessel, which traded between Vancouver and New Zealand under the Alley Line, is on a sandy patch, with 19ft of water over it. She is drawing 20ft, and as the tides are taking off it is thought that lighterage will become necessary. The Buceros was bound for Dunkirk and London with a large cargo of wool. From there she goes to Clarence River to take in ironbark for the return to Greymouth. Record shipping returns during the month of October for the port of Greymouth are announced hy the Star. Altogether G9 vessels, aggreer 1 „' 33,740 tons, entered inwards, and C 2 vessel*, of 30,570 tons, crossed the bar outwards. While on a voyage from Launceston to Queenscliff recently the steering-gear of the Rotomahana became disarranged, which, however, caused but slight delayCaptain Delma, late of the barquentine Jap, has been appointed master of the barquentine Volador.
