WOMEN STUDENTS' HOSTEL.
The annual meeting of tuo Women Students' Hostel Society was held last evening. Mr. J. G. W. Aitken presided. Tho adoption of the annual report (published yesterday) was moved by Mr. Geo. Shirtcliffe and seconded by Yen. Archdeacon Fancourt, and carried, after various congratulatory references had been made. Mr. Aitken was re-elected president of tho society, and Mr. Shirer secretary. In the absence of the Bishop, Archdeacon Fanoourt, Bishop's Commissary, reappointed the following ladies (Anglican) who had served on the council last year, they being all willing to accept reappointment : — Mrs. Wallis, Miss Holmes, Dr. Agnes Bennett, Mrs. J. F. Martin, and Mrs. Salmond. Tho following wore appointed members of the council by the Presbytery of Wellington:—Mrs. Gibb, Mrs. Gibbß, Mrs. Gill, Mrs. Gray, aud Mrs. Picken. Mr. Shirtcliffe, in moving a vote of thanks to the ladies, highly complimented them on the admirable business-like way they had put things before the '"Beting. Arohdeacon Fancourt seconded, and the motion was carried with acclamation. Miss Holmes, treasurer of lhe council, thanked tho speakers for their generous | remarks. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr. Aitken, on the motion of Mr. Shirer, which Mrs. Salmond seconded. The Benediction, pronounced by Archdeacon. Fanoourt, terminated tho proceedings.
