TO THE ELECTORS OF WELLINGTON NORTH. I HAVE to express my grateful thanks to tho ladies and gentlemen who did me the honour of voting for me yesterday. I have also to thank most sincerely the members of my committee, and other supporters who worked so loyally and untiringly on my behalf and on behalf I of the Liberal cause. I The campaign has been fought on both sides on fair and honourable linos, and we have fought a- good fight. We will fight again amd win. Yours Faithfully, F. G. BOLTON. TO THE ELECTORS OF WELLINGTON EAST. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, I beg to thank you very heartily for the large measure of support which you were good enough to give to mo yesterday. To thoso kind friends who worked on my behalf I desire in particular to express my grateful acknowledgment for the faithful, laborious, and self-sacrificing of- ! forts which thoy pxat forth in my behalf. No man was ever better served in this respect than I, and tho consciousness of the fact makes me more disappointed for Lho wasted labours of my friendo and *upportors than on my own account. Yet it is really a mistake to think of any labour conscientiously undertaken for a good cause as wasted. No fight for principlo is wholly wasted, though tho immediate result may seem to be barren, and it was principle and not self-interest that inspired the splendid enthusiasm thrown into the fight for Wellington East on my bohalf. We fought a good fight, we pulled no wires, and wo made no deals. But after various underground agencies, which in general nro antagonistic to Independent Labour, had been brought to bear in its bohalf as the smaller of two evils, the odds against lIS wore too heavy, and wo fell. Nevertheless, oven now, when the sense of defeat should I>o keenest, the fight seems _ to mo about the pleasarrtest I was ever in, and if my friends in the constituency are equally willing, I snail be glad to undertake another at the- next vacancy, I am, eto., A. R. ATKINSON. TO THE ELECTORS Off WELLING- , TON SOUTH. I DESIRE to express my sincere and grateful thanks to those Ladies and Gentlemen who voted for me at yesterday's ballot. I wish also to thank the Members of my Committees, and other friends who •worked so earnestly and ao untiringly on my behalf. Yours faithfully, I W. H. P. BARBER.
