BOXING TOURNAMENT.
TO-NIGHT'S ARRANGEMENTS. Dr. Napier M'Lean will be referee in ■the boxing matches at the Opera House to-night. The amateußS who are to box the four preliminary bouts are well matched, and in respect of tho two professionals the chances are seemingly so equal that two numerous and strong-divided sections of tho sport's following are found on both sides. Elliott, who is making his first appearance as a professional, has demonstrated his ability in many a ling, and Gosling's forceful style and clever footwork are recognised by all local followers of the sport. The main contest will begin at 9.15. Tha results of the second ballot elections will be announced during the evening.
