CORRESPONDENCE. KILBIRNIE CARS.
to thjb mnnoH. Sir, — In reply to "One Concerned," wish to point out to_ him that Kilbirni* 'has a ton-minutes service, not a twelveminutes one, as he states, and, furthermore, Kilbirnie alone has an interval of twenty minutes between each car, and not forty minutes, as ho asserts. If " One Concorned " is so much concerned, I would suggest that he purchase a tramway time-table, prico one penny, from any conductor ; ho would then soa that tho Miramar and Scatoun cars run at intervals of 40 minutes to their respective termini and nn interval of 20 minutes to Kilbirnie; tho Kilbirnie cara have an interval of 20 minutes between each car. Tho Miramar and Seatoun cars leave Government Station on tho 6, 26, and 46 past the hour, Kilbirnie! cars 16, 36, and 56 minutes past the hour, making a 10 minutes' service to Kilbir-c nie. "One Concerned" is mistaken when he states that ho has to wait half an' hour for a car between 5 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. A special leaves Government Station at 5 p.m. in front of the Miramar workers' at 5.1 p.m., supplemented byi another special at 5.5 p.m. in front of the Seatoun workers' at 5.6 p.m., then 1 i followed by a Kilbirnie car at 5.16 p.nu, then tho Miramar car at 5.26 p.m., andl another Kilbirnie car at 5.36 p.m., making in all seven cars in half an hour, or practically a fivo-minutes' service between 5 p.m. and 5.16 p.m., then a ton-minutes*' service until the 10.55 p.m. last car. As a motorman I would rather drive on Kilbirnie than Nowtqwn lino during 5 o'clock loading, there being less trouble to keep to schedule time. I would also point out to " One Concorned " that Kilbirnio is tho only service that has two workers' cars passing through. — I am, etc., MOTSORMAN. Wellington, 21st November, 1908.
