FIELDER & CO.'S. ; AN exhibition of HIGH-CLASS FURNITURE such as is seldom 6een in i New Zealand is now on view at FIELDER'S SHOWROOMS IN MANNERS-STREET. English furniture, recently imported, and i made in those Antiquo designs thai have of late years become so popular, aro to be seen in various sizes, fashioned to fit large or small rooms, and in many instances only one suite of each design has been imported, bo that it is impossible to have it duplicated in any other, house — for a time at least. Two of tho front show windows have attracted considerable attention during the last few days, and are worthy of inspection by any one possessed of artistic taste. One window bay is fitted up as a bedroom, tho floor carpeted with a carpet oi tho palest hue (one that does not easily show spot or stain) , a massive brass-rail bedstead, highlyfinished wardrobe, toilet and dressing tables, box lounge (so useful for packing dresses without folding or creasing), chairs, curtains, etc., etc., make a bedroom fit for any mansion in tho Dominion. To any purchaser who may require the style or patterns of all or any of the articles varied, the large showrooms at the back afford ample reserve supplies to accede to their wishes. I The second window is furnished as a drawingroom, and the furniture is a marvel of elegance, taste, and skill in manufacture and design. Rare and beautiful woods, inlaid with such skill as to resemble paint, are made up into chairs, lounges, cabinets, fancy tables, and all the other dainty things in furniture so indispensable to tho furnishing of a modern house. Several designs are shown in suites covered with silk tapestry and other dainty coverings. Space forbids too full a description of tho various articles ; and, as in the case of tho bedroom suite, many of the articles cannot bo duplicated, and if required must bo ordered from England. Our beautiful Native Woods are not neglected, and Mr. Fielder holds large stocks of seasoned timber which is being made up into furniture for those who prefer tho New Zealand timbers. A large number of these articles are on view in the Show Rooms, a few only of the choicest articles of English furnituro being placed in the show windows. A visit to the Warehouse in Mannersstreet would not bo complete ' without a pcop at the large Carpet Room, where miles of carpets, mostly new designs, are in hugo rolls ready for the purchaser to select from. It is not out of tho way to stato that the stock of Carpets is the largest in Wellington, and cannot bo excelled for quality, pattern, or price. Made by the best houses in the world, they stand alono in the city. ' FIELDERS' proud boast is that no house is too large for them to furnish from their large reserve stock at a few days' notice, and if the design of any articles does not please, another can bo made to suit individual tastes, the large staff of artisans employed being able to turn out tho work quickly. During this week do not fail to sco tho most ARTISTIC MODERN FURNITURE ever shown in Wellington, and NOW ON VIEW at FIELDER & CO.'S, MANNERS-STREET. GENTLEMEN ! THE most oft-repeated question of the day over tha whole of tho Dominion is "WHO SAID BEGG'S?" And the never-failing reply all who care for a pure, mellow, non-smoky Scotch Whisky Is "WE ALL DO1" Ask for it at all the leading hotels, ani don't be put off with any other brand. DRINK BEGG'S
